Although limited in it's duration, the tasks assigned to me by the reporting manager helped me understand how the department accomplishes Batelco's business objectives on a daily basis.★ Supported Incident Management team in resolving daily occurring configuration item failures. This included temporarily assigning backup PC/Laptop to employees specifically when an unresolved underpinning problem was continuously obstructing their work.★ Assisted Problem Management team on solving the root cause of some recurring incidents. For example a number of PCs in call center department were crashing randomly, the problem was traced back to a patch collectively applied to the operating system earlier in the week. Once the solution was found in a testing environment, the defective patch was removed from call center PCs in the maintenance window scheduled after the working hours. ★ Worked with the access management team in creating Windows® based login credentials and assigned them appropriate authorization privileges for recently joined employees using Active Directory.★ Created a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) solely containing PCs and Laptops. The objective was to rapidly filter out legacy PCs which would struggle to cope up with the hardware demands of latest operating systems and accompanying work related software. Show less

      Apr 2013 - Jan 2016

Working at Digital Middle East i have performed myriad of jobs. The cross-functional nature of the organization allowed me to not only reinforce and enhance my core IT skills. But also gave me an opportunity to work in supply-chain, finance and sales department. As a result i have acquired deep understanding of the inner workings on how a Small - Medium Enterprise (SME) is run at an operational level.★ Created sales inventory management system to track sales activity as well as maintain healthy inventory level. This was accompanied with the development of knowledge database for the products present in the inventory. This served two purposes, Firstly to record the failures with the product and initiate return merchandise authorization process (RMA) for in-warranty units. Secondly to collect desirable features which the customer would like to see in the future version of the product. Once complied the feedback was sent to respective 3rd party organization.★ Handled issues or service request originating from both inside and outside of the organization. This included simple service requests pertaining to daily occurring IT issues within the organization or complex and urgent issues emerging at Digital Middle East's customer premises which required me to personally visit them and try to resolve the problem.★ Worked closely with customer's IT team in designing and integrating organization wide Audio/Video technologies such as HDBaseT, i.e. transmission of uncompressed high-definition video (HD), audio and power over Ethernet, along with IP based Digital Signage and Surveillance Systems. Show less ★ Participated in brainstorming sessions with the sales team in enhancing Digital Middle East's product consumer adoption process. To put it in other way with each iteration of the product, the feature-set changed which lead to modification of the famous marketing model AIDA ( i.e., Attention | Interest | Desire | Action ). This exercise helped optimize the purchasing funnel where potential customers would move smoothly through cognitive stages and finally be encouraged to make a purchase.★ Assisted sales team in creating product presentation for customers. My responsibility was to understand the technology at hand and then help translate it's features to meet the needs of the prospective organizations. ★ Conducted training sessions of Digital Middle East's solutions for the customer. To expound on this point, in a business-to-business environment the final user of our solution were not necessary tech savvy or even technology literate and had a higher resistance to change, this required preparation of highly engaging training material which then had to be presented immaculately. This lead to higher customer retention and created opportunity for recurring business.★ Searched and established relations with both local & international 3rd party vendors. The process began with utilizing the information extracted from knowledge database (KD), for customer requirements not been currently addressed by the product mix of Digital Middle East. This made imperative that i constantly pursue research on emerging technologies and then look for their availability firstly in the local market before seeking international vendors. Show less

      Network engineer

As a Network Engineer on GBM's MOPS Team, I maintained the campus networks of multiple governmental and private entities in Bahrain, performing the following actions:★ Managed Cisco and Huawei based Core, Distribution, and Access layer switching platforms. Proactively monitoring them for network related issues and troubleshooting observed problems. Implemented security features such as DHCP Snooping to protect the network from unauthorized access and attacks, and kept the switches up-to-date with the latest firmware and software releases.★ Maintained and gained in depth understanding of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and RIP on enterprise networks. The campus network was distributed across multiple buildings and different geographic locations, connected via various IGP protocols using a mix vendor environment, I studied existing topology, underlying connectivity, routing tables, route redistribution, and routing policies. This enabled me to promptly investigate and resolve any emerging issues along progressive expansion of the campus network.★ Created and deployed scripts written in Python and PowerShell to deploy wide-scale network changes in the infrastructure on a campus network of 1000+ devices, such as deploying new network switches and configuring VLANs, features such as SNMP, NTP etc. Scripts reduced the deployment time by 50% and eliminated human errors altogether, resulting in a more efficient, accurate, and reliable deployment process.★ Prepared, configured, and installed Cisco stack switches for campus buildings, ensuring efficient onboarding of new users and connectivity to their end devices. As the network footprint expanded, our regular task was to connect switches in stack configuration and perform post-stacking checks before activating the switches in the production environment. Furthermore, I ensured to maintain a healthy stock by maintaining 10% of switches and stack cables. Show less
