      As a Computer User Support Specialist I at IT@UC, I am in a unique role to assist faculty, staff, and students with the use of UC's various eLearning tools such as Canvas, Kaltura, and Zoom. My position within Learning Technology Support has evolved in many ways and has allowed me to gain experience in:- Administrating large-scale, 'mission critical' applications that are used by faculty, staff, and students every day- Collaborating with other teams both inside and outside of IT@UC on projects that create new tools and opportunities for members of the UC community- Partnering with external vendors to adopt new tools and platforms to allow for innovation at UC- Supporting faculty, staff, and students to avoid and resolve technology issues that hinder their ability to teach and learn- Creating documentation regarding UC's eLearning tools as well as facilitating communication surrounding upcoming changesThroughout my time in IT@UC, I have led and been involved in various groups and committees.       In my role as System Administrator for UC's College of Nursing, I play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and accessibility of technology across various systems used by UC Nursing faculty, staff, and students. This position has provided me with valuable opportunities to enhance my technical skills and advance my career in the realms of higher education and healthcare technology.In my role at UC’s College of Nursing (CON), my responsibilities include:- Administering large-scale systems and services such as print servers, file storage servers, and web servers- Managing CON's growing inventory of AR and VR devices involving maintaining UC's only XR device management platform, and assisting CON faculty, staff, and students with VR/AR case studies aimed at augmenting the nursing simulation experience- Endpoint management of all CON-owned computer and mobile devices using administration platforms such as JAMF and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. This includes overseeing the imaging process, security vulnerability remediation, and system update/patching.- Software purchasing and integration for applications used at the College of Nursing- Collaborating with other colleges and units to ensure a seamless experience for multi-discipline students and faculty and to avoid duplication of efforts- Managing CON IT student workers and co-op students, fostering a culture of professionalism and expertise Show less
