The implementation will enhance the persistence and resilience of broadband availability as well as exploring and creating a mobile emergency response facility that can be… Show more The Project Titled "TELE-MEDICINE AS A PANACEA TO MEDICAL TOURISM IN AFRICA EXPLOITING COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE TECHNOLOGIES" draws on a mixed-methods approach comprising: case studies, a survey and action research to determine the potential for implementing a satellite communication network for telemedicine in rural areas. The implementation will enhance the persistence and resilience of broadband availability as well as exploring and creating a mobile emergency response facility that can be quickly deployed to a disaster location or Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps. This would also extend emergency healthcare service delivery in an attempt to enhance the nation's disaster response preparedness and effectiveness utilizing Communications Satellite Technology and software applications.
