During humanitarian crises, La Chaîne de l'Espoir is mobilizing its network of specialized surgeons to meet the needs of populations. Finally, La Chaîne de l'Espoir promotes access to education for the most vulnerable children.   The French Development Agency Group (AFD) is the main development cooperation institution of the French government. It is a public, non-commercial, financial institution providing development assistance in the form of grants, loans and technical cooperation to over 100 countries worldwide. AFD is active in Iraq since 2011 and has financed over 600-million-euro worth of public and private projects and budget support in Iraq. AFD Group is currently working in the sector of water and sanitation, agriculture, health, banking and governance. It is working (or planning to work) in Anbar, Dohuk, Erbil, Ninawah, Qadissiya and Salah-ed-Din provinces.
