I was responsible for ensuring the necessary paperwork and licenses were in place. I recruited my staff and managed them on a day to day basis, organizing the staff rota and delegating duties as and when necessary.I made my own marketing arrangements for the new business, promoting it through the use of leaflets and flyers as well as placing advertisements in local newspapers. Liason with external suppliers was paramount as was stock control and managing the accounts.This management role demanded excellent leadership and customer service skills. I was a ‘hands on’ manager choosing to work alongside my team. The business proved hugely successful and we had a large amount of repeat business. Unfortunately after 6 years, the owner of the premises decided to build apartments and shops on the land where the restaurant stood. Show less
