Project: “Modelling of Exhaust Gas Diffusion in Underground Car Parks”, funded by the Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation (QCIF) and Gas Detection Australia Company (GDA).• Successfully simulated CO diffusion processes, including a built-up process (engine on, vent fans off) and a clean-up process (engine off, vent fans on), in the USQ engine laboratory using Ansys-Fluent. Generated technical drawings with Autocad and created 3D mesh models using Gambit.• Collaborated with a team member in conducting laboratory experiments, utilising GDA’s CO sensor products to measure CO distribution in the engine laboratory. Validated CFD models using the experimental data of CO concentrations at sensory points.Project: “Modelling Turbulent Dispersion of Contaminants in Open Channel Flows”. • Developed a high-order flow solver based on integrated radial basis function networks for modelling turbulent dispersion of contaminants in open channel flows.• Published scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. • University of southern queensland

      Oct 2013 - Oct 2019

Managed and successfully completed an ARC-DP project titled "Surface Characteristics and Hydrodynamics in Detachment of Coarse Particles." Achieved all project milestones within specified timelines, leading to the publication of 3 peer-reviewed papers in the Minerals Engineering journal.• Participated in teaching activities for the Engineering Simulations and Computations course at School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, UniSQ. Provided guidance & conducted tutoring sessions for over 250 students, both on-campus and online.• Conducted an industry-funded project to quantify the impact of soil compaction on water retention and infiltration characteristics across diverse soils in the US, Australia, and other regions.• Successfully supervised 2 PhD students to completion. Show less • Main researcher for the UniSQ-SRF3 project titled “Computational Models to Enhance Food Security and Decision Support in Agriculture”• Developed an integrated software platform incorporating advanced computational mathematics, physics, and engineering to support decision-making in agriculture.• Automated APSIM simulations for diverse agricultural management scenarios and conducted data analysis and optimisation to identify optimal practices to maximise farming profit.• Developed a computer program using mesh-free Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method and mesh-based methods to simulate surface-subsurface flow in furrow irrigations.• Modelled salt movement in soil columns under electro-kinesis and irrigation applications.• Promoted the integrated software platform to various research groups and industry users, generated technical reports and published scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.• Supervised two PhD students in the areas of CFD and applied mathematics. • The university of queensland

      Dec 2019 - Dec 2021
Researcher - school of chemical engineering

      • Developed computational models to quantify the probabilities of bubble-particle collision and detachment in turbulent-multiphase-multiscale flow in mechanical flotation cells.• Analyzed 3D images of coal particles generated by an X-ray Computed Tomography (XCT) scanner to assess the washability characteristics of coal samples.

    • The university of queensland

      May 2022 - now
Researcher - julius kruttschnitt mineral research centre

      • Conducted Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of multiphase flow in minerals processing equipment, including mechanical flotation cells and teeter bed separators, using Siemens STAR-CCM+.• Developed 3D CAD models of minerals processing equipment within Autodesk Inventor.• Examined CFD and experimental data related to turbulent-multiphase flows and solids suspension in mechanical flotation cells. Utilized findings to identify optimal operating conditions, contributing to the enhancement of flotation performance. Show less
