  At the Deheyn Lab, I contributed to the search for the proteins involved in the bioluminescence reaction of the marine Annelida genus Chaetopterus. To figure out how this mechanism produces a fascinating continuous blue glow we extracted RNA, synthesised and amplified DNA using PCR, isolated proteins using FLPC and carried out a photometric analysis by creating an Excitation Emission Matrix.

  I developed a citizen science project within the RESMED EU programme. The objective was to document and analyze the Local Ecological Knowledge of the artisanal fishers in the Costa Brava to gather unpublished information about fish species of comercial interest. We contacted and interviewed the fishermen, applyed statistical analysis with R and georeferenced the information using QGIS.
