During her time there, she wrote multiple advocacy alerts and handled most of the member communications. She also helped organize a conference in the fall and lobby day in the spring with over 800 social workers and students at each event. After her time at NASWIL, Rubbelke was recruited by a private lobbying firm to be the Director of Government Relations. There, she built key legislative relationships, became the point-person on multiple grassroots lobbying efforts, and gained knowledge and skill on how to effectively lobby on behalf of a number of complex issues in Springfield and in Chicago. She joined Capitol Edge Consulting in 2019 as their Vice President of Government Relations.Rubbelke is the Executive Director of the NASW Chapter in her home state, North Dakota. She continues her involvement with NASWIL as their Political Action Committee (PAC) Chairperson and is also a director on the Illinois Women's Empowerment PAC.
