Maintain quality assurance to contract documents, answered RFI’s and submittals, and resolved daily issues. Followed design through construction; learning various construction techniques.

Mar 2010 - Dec 2010Director of haiti housingDirector of Housing responsible for creating a new housing program following the January earthquake. Relocated to Haiti to live and work full time. Established local relationships with community leaders, fundraising sources, and other NGO's in the region to establish the first and only permanent housing program operating for the 1st year post-disaster. Managed 2 staff members and team of local masons to provide full time construction between volunteer visits. Organized housing, transportation, and activities for volunteer driven trips. Created 3 new housing developments with urban infill in and around Leogane. Created a masonry training program and school to certify and educate local masons on materials, techniques, and methods to improve construction to counter seismic and hurricane conditions. Created presentations and joint research efforts with the University of Notre Dame for their structural analysis and humanitarian efforts to lead to long term solutions for the developing nation.Supported partner aid organizations focused on health and safety, rubble removal and construction of support services. Met regularly with the United Nations to coordinate construction efforts and relay safety and security concerns. Show less

As the team Quality Control Architect I focus on driving the efficiency and accuracy of multi-family projects. I've established interoffice procedures, design standards, write the Specifications, evaluate materials, and negotiate national purchase agreements. Also serve as the in-house accessibility reviewer for every project. The rest of the time I serve as a traditional Project Manager on 6-8 projects at a time managing outside design consultants and liaison with our Pre-construction department, Management, and Development Teams. I established standard Unit designs for use by our department across multiple properties. Layout site plan options for projects that range from garden style 2-story walk-up, 4-5 story affordable, market rate, and senior living, and 25+ story high-rise developments. Show less
