  New York State Homes and Community Renewal (NYSHCR) is the statewide housing resource whose mission is to build, preserve, and protect affordable housing and home ownership across the State of New York. To that end, NYSHCR resources have helped finance 26,000 affordable housing units since 2011, for moderate and low-income families and vulnerable New Yorkers. As the Director of Training and Professional Development, I see to the professional development needs of over 1,100 employees located throughout New York State. I work closely with upper level management, field unit managers, the New York State Office of Employee Relations, and other New York State Agency training directors to assess employee development needs, develop relevant and timely educational programs, and deliver workshops that reach our geographically diverse workforce while minimizing associated costs.
