Jun 2021 - Aug 2021Trainee engineer in continuous improvementsAs a trainee engineer in continuous improvement at ONDAL France SARL, a subsidiary of the Mibelle Group belonging to the Migros group, my missions consisted of ensuring the application of 5S principles and ergonomics at the workstations and in the storage areas of the production lines of the factory's packing department. My work within the packing department consisted of the realisation and the follow-up of several missions described hereafter such as:- Ensuring the 5S and ergonomic storage of new format cabinets on a production line,- The production of workstation usage sheets in the One Point Lesson (OPL) format for new temporary workers,- Produce organisation plans for certain production lines in order to easily and quickly identify the positions and tasks to be carried out by operators according to the format produced, - Re-identify and re-arrange the bins containing the buckets for the buckets transported on the lines,- Respond to a report of a risk of belt entrainment by proposing the creation of a casing adapted to the risk area as a solution. Our objective, for the industry section of the prize, was to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on the Metz campus where we study. We then began to investigate and propose solutions in conjunction with the campus staff, teachers and technicians, in order to identify and reduce the impact of the use of raw materials in the practical work carried out during the students' training by making this practical work more interdependent, without impacting on the educational and recreational aspects of this work, in the same way as the work of the teachers and technicians, whom we wanted to include as much as possible in the project. The changes will only be sustainable if all the actors (students, teachers and technicians) feel involved and not negatively impacted. In the same vein, we set up a game based on the principle of the Fresque du Climat, tracing the life cycle of a material from its extraction to its use in the workshops of the Metz campus during practical work. The aim was for the teachers who had shown interest in our project during the year to be able to raise awareness among future students by including a time dedicated to this game in their sessions.Participating in this project was a very enriching experience, it allowed us to better understand the flow of materials and energy passing through the Arts et Métiers campus in Metz and then to propose solutions to reduce the emissions that these flows generated. In human terms, this project allowed us to work as a team but above all to discover the work of the technicians in the workshops in greater depth and to participate, through their involvement in this project, in cultivating the good understanding that exists between the latter and the students, which has been affected by the recent sanitary situation.
