  In the three years I was with ARAMARK, my Training team and I had the opportunity to completely revise the New Hire Orientation program for incoming housekeepers that would be providing services to both Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Healthcare. Our team taught the new hires on all required Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements as well as Infection Control Practices. The Infection Control program was extensive for ARAMARK, as housekeeping services were provided to every aspect of Acute Care; from Emergency Rooms, to Operating Rooms to the Burn Unit at VGH, it was vital that all staff knew and understood how to protect themselves as well as the patients. As a training team, it was our responsibility to not only conduct regular needs assessments at each of the 30+ sites, but then to develop appropriate programs to fill the identified gaps.   • Chaired both the Corporate Emergency Response Committee and the Corporate Policy and Procedure Committee• Co-Chaired the Corporate Occupational Health and Safety Committee and acted as an Ex-Officio for JHS Committees at high-risk locations.• Act as first contact with all WorkSafeBC Prevention Officers that oversaw and inspected our client sites.• Developed, implemented, maintained and managed all aspects of two separate and distinct programs, that, working together, successfully reduced WCB Experience Ratings from a surcharge to a discount. o An award-winning Occupational Health and Safety Program, building the program from nothing in 2013 to a team of 7 in 2023 that exceeded both Certificate of Recognition (COR: achieved in 2016) and WorkSafeBC standards and provided quantitative evidence of its success through the reduction of injuries. o A Recover at Work Program that included a partnership with WorkSafeBC in their Early Access to Physiotherapy Program, specifically chosen due to the strength of our developed Disability Management Program. This Recover at Work Program reduced costs through diminished recovery times and almost eliminating time spent at home.• Worked with all unique sites and management to practice, implement and manage their customized OH&S programs and provide hands on assistance for as long as necessary. o Developed site specific procedures to manage the two highest risks in Healthcare today: Violence and MSIs.o Worked actively with on-site Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees to improve effectiveness and motivate action.o Led the development or updating of Policies, Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessments by providing subject matter expertise and hands on assistance.• Known and recommended as an expert by multiple Legislative authorities to organizations outside my employer. • Acted as the organization’s key investigator into all incidents and injuries, including critical injuries.
