      Bar staff

Being bar staff isn’t limited to pouring pints and making drinks. Organization and time keeping is critical especially during events such as weddings and birthday parties. Being able to communicate professionally with a range of people such as chefs, bar managers, customers, event managers and other bar staff was essential in my job.• Continually provide exceptional service to customers by being friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and sometimes took on the bar manager role when understaffed.• Expertly prepared both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using correct techniques, liquid measurements, and garnishes.• Regularly cleaned and sanitised the bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage areas.• Entered orders into the computer system quickly and in the proper sequence, so I am a very confident and trustworthy till user.• Consistently exhibited a calm demeanour during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep shop operating smoothly and set a positive example for the shift team. Ph.D investigating the influence of gestational Vitamin D deficiency on fetal brain development. I have done RT-qPCR, immunocytochemistry, histology, cell culture and behavioural animal work to investigate this. As Supervisor at the University's COVID-19 Testing Service, I was instrumental in shaping our response during the pandemic's early stages. I streamlined testing processes, ensuring efficiency and safety. My proactive approach led to my rapid promotion, where I enhanced communication and optimised the user experience for staff and those tested. My efforts played a key role in building trust within the university community during uncertain times.

Zinc are giving ambitious and motivated PhD students the opportunity to undertake a three-month internship embedding research principals, methods, and their disciplinary knowledge in early-stage start-ups. This is a unique opportunity to experience research-in-action.
