  Working as an Inventory Controller for a retail store can be a rewarding experience, allowing the opportunity to become a part of managing a big business and day-to-day operations.The role of an Inventory Controller is to strategically plan and manage inventory and assess the availability of stock in the store. This requires an understanding of the full supply chain – from supplier to customer. Major responsibilities include ensuring product availability, minimizing stock-outs, increasing accuracy levels with regards to inventory data, and making sure that products are picked, packed and shipped accurately. An Inventory Controller also monitors received stock to ensure accuracy, investigate any discrepancies in inventory, and investigate any discrepancies between expected and actual stock in the store.
