      Activities and Societies: This course is designed to provide extensive baseline knowledge in mountain/wilderness medicine. It is 12 Days Long and about 70% didactic and 30% hands on. It also forms the core of International Diploma in Mountain Medicine. In addition to the lectures there will be hands on training in many mountain skills such as knots, map reading, avalanche basics, and patient transport.

The content of this two-day course focuses on understanding the unique health environment and recognizing and managing those conditions consistently associated with high mortality among the most vulnerable populations (primarily children) in these settings: diarrhea and dehydration, malnutrition, epidemic measles, malaria and respiratory infections.
