      Started "professional" DJing here when I was 16 years old. Introduced "new beat" and "house" styles which at that time were very awkward. Playing those styles almost cost me my job (...). However, I really lost my job because the place burnt down in 1987. Now that's what I call a Disco Inferno!

      After my former residence (Discotheque Galaxy) burnt down, I was invited to play my music at Moulin Rouge. This place did formerly not have a 'real' DJ so the people had to get used to a mad guy mixing music scratching records. And so they did;-) Stopped working there in 1990 because of more time-consuming education and real-life work. Had a very good time and still occasionally seeing some of my old colleagues!

      My first 'real' job. Started there booking purchase invoices, ended up checking and paying them and expanded the job with checking and booking bank drafts, stock mutations, set up a debtors collection system and labour hour registration system. This company had a very nice product range but the work, even with all the new things I initiated, was quite dull.

      This was a hobby project which became quite succesful. At its peak this Bulletin Board served well over 100 users per day. Mutli-line connections were available over both POTS and ISDN. It ran on a LAN of several self-assembled computers and was 95% self-maintaining. I took the service down in 1998 because at that time, the technology was becoming too old to keep up with the newer, larger BBS called "The Internet" ;-)

      A colleague at my former job at Houthandel Vromans mentioned that the company where her sister worked for was looking for a credit manager. 1 letter and 1 meeting later I became that:). I was responsible for managing Dfl. 30 mio. of turnover in quite a risky environment. Worked with credit information companies like Dun & Bradstreet and Graydon and with credit insurer Cobac Nederland which later became EULER-Cobac and after that EULER-Hermes. Also worked with domestic and foreign banks and learned to play with foreign currencies. Show less

      At Meplax BV I had a lot of contact with my credit insurance company (called Cobac Nederland at that time). One thing led to another.... and I joined Cobac. Cobac was renamed to EULER and later to EULER Hermes. I was one of the early members of the staff, giving me the benefit to be personally educated (or should I say raised?) by Walter Toemen (current Risk Director of EULER NL) and Paul Overeem (former CEO of Cobac, currently CEO of EULER Americas). These people taught me a lot.I made it from junior to senior ("++") risk underwriter, met a lot of brokers and was contact person for a lot of the key customers like Dactylo, PontMeyer, Content, Unique, Dane-Elec, BSTS, Acer, Raab-Karcher and AOpen. Co-worked to erect the joint-venture "Interpolis Kredietverzekeringen" and participated in projects to improve the risk monitoring system and database and to improve the start with newly insured customers.       In 1998, Cobac (later renamed to EULER) and Interpolis founded a joint-venture in credit insurance to provide a one-stop shopping service to Interpolis customers. Many of these customers were not used fulfilling the duties that a credit insurance policy brings. For me, this was a perfect opportunity to combine risk underwriting with crm. Still working for EULER, I set up procedures to help new insureds and paved the way for the account managers by explaining the credit descisions of the company without using a lot of financial terms.       After 7 years of telling the customers (credit managers) of EULER and Interpolis what to do, I decided to do the trick myself and started at ELECTRON as credit manager. ELECTRON was renamed to AMEC SPIE Nederland and later to SPIE Nederland.Started as a sole worker cleaning out old debts, now manager of a currently 4 FTE CM department managing the full Order-To-Cash process.-Credit management: Accounts receivable, accounts payable, VAT & "WKA" issues, invoicing;-Cash management: Various bank accounts held at a number of banks, target balancing system;-Treasury management: Reporting, planning and steering, on daily, monthly, 3- and 12 months basis;-Consolidation: Intercompany and intragroup matching and reporting, using various consolidation tools (Cartesis, BOIC);-Bank bonds;-Master customer and supplier database management;-Involved in project teams for choosing or upgrading ERP systems;-Development and auditing of processes related to OTC;-Training and road shows for operational people in optimizing OTC;-Integration of acquisitions and JV's into OTC activities;-Functional management of Project Administrators (approx. 55 colleagues).
