      As a graduate student at Cornell University's Food and Brand Lab, I researched consumption decision-making involving visual and verbal nudges (behavior interrupts) in a viewing-equipped test kitchen for the pursuit of a more health conscious consumer. One such experiment has been dubbed the 'Pringles study' as our main focus was to determine how people's eating behavior would change given a certain level of knowledge about our nudge, which happened to be coloring a certain amount of the… Show more As a graduate student at Cornell University's Food and Brand Lab, I researched consumption decision-making involving visual and verbal nudges (behavior interrupts) in a viewing-equipped test kitchen for the pursuit of a more health conscious consumer. One such experiment has been dubbed the 'Pringles study' as our main focus was to determine how people's eating behavior would change given a certain level of knowledge about our nudge, which happened to be coloring a certain amount of the chips red within a can of Pringles. By being blatant and open about the purpose of our nudge (to slow down consumption) we actually made people consume more chips compared to simply revealing that the nudge was present.I also structured interviews and conducted field research for Mad Hat Economics, a behavioral economics podcast where professionals discuss different behavioral anomalies related to economics, marketing, psychology, public policy, consumer preference, and food science.
