  Took part in several projects in a company that aims to democratize the education worldwide regarding the latest advances in surgery. Some of these endeavors involved telemedicine, cloud solutions, application to European projects, and website tagging for future AI applications. Apart from acquiring biomedical engineering capabilities, I also learnt office conduct and demonstrated to be versatile and to be able to work in a high-pressure work environment with a heavy workload.

  Bachelor's Thesis

  The aim of my Bachelor's thesis consisted in assessing the viability of an existing Deep Learning algorithm for the segmentation of LGE images of the cardiac atrial wall, to replace the existing laborious and sometimes inaccurate manual segmentation techniques. I carried out this project along with Hospital Clinic of Barcelona and GE Healthcare.For me, this project was a very challenging and eye-opening experience, as I got to understand the wide range of possible applications of AI in healthcare.   During my stay at Hospital Vall d'Hebron I participated in a number of projects involving public tenders, hospital equipping plans and medical infrastructure remodeling. I got in touch with physicians and companies in the sector in order to fulfill the hospital technological needs. Therefore, I learned about hospital management, medical equipment, and self-taught learning.

  Cardiac Rhythm Management Field Technical Engineering Intern

  I worked as a Field Technical Engineering Intern at the Cardiac Rhythm Management Department in Abbott. My job consisted in providing technical support to physicians during implant procedures. These implants could involve implantable pacemakers, defibrillators, or holter monitors. During my stay at Abbott I dealt with physicians and the hospital environment on a daily basis. Also, I learned about the importance of teamwork and fellowship.
