The fight against Domestic Violence: Event was created by Sherri Dense Jackson’s foundation for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Inc. The event had many tiers One to inform public that domestic violence is an issue in our district (Guilford County) as well as let them know the resources available for victims: Woman, Men, and Children. Second was an opportunity for city to feed homeless with venders giving out free, drinks, hotdogs and hamburgers so they could feel more apart of community. Third was an opportunity for small business chefs to sell barbecue in order to get noticed. United International Wrestlers a Wassa Wassa production were in attendance, Wrestlers are a symbol of strength, endurance. The patrons enjoyed interacting with them while music was playing. Patrons could take photos and speak directly with their favorite wrestlers as well as gain knowledge on upcoming matches and or work-out techniques. Character Elmo: Costumed as Elmo, I to the best of my ability duty was to uphold and maintain Elmo’s philosophy of “Keep on imaging”, “Love everyone you meet” (please you tube: The Elmo song). Elmo took photos with his fans young and old, encouraged children to stay in school keep using imagination. (Some kids thought there was a person under fluff, so I fuelled them with Elmo’s voice).Posing for patrons and being part of family photos interacted with wrestlers as well, spontaneous speaking, talking with children and their parents. My duties for that day was to post the photos of the athletes and their family and friends that were apart of event on Instagram. Students had to make their personal Instagram public to take part in program. when the photos were shared they were sent to a special printer I then posted them on the walls of the A&T stadium, so that they could collect them for their personal memories, an for a organic record of their victories, team experiences. I also had to inform the patrons of the program created by “New Balance” so they were aware they could have a physical copy of photos as well as continue to post live shots. Show less
