  Project Assistant for Surabaya Cycling Friendly City

  Surabaya Cycling Friendly City is a consortium consisting of various communities in Surabaya (Subcyclist, FDTS - Transport for Surabaya, SUBstitue Makerspace, and Haloijo) with ITDP Indonesia through the #CyclingCities program to develop and advocate a cyclist-friendly city of Surabaya. The project aims to make the city more livable and sustainable, reduce pollution, and be resilient to the impact of climate change.• Received 101 courses and tools from ITDP Indonesia, resulting in improved knowledge of implementing cycling-friendly cities from lesson-learned sessions.• Assisting the Project Lead with events, e.g. facilitated workshops and FGDs. Coordinated 4 note-takers for the academic workshop, ensuring every discussion was recorded on track verbatim.• Conducted site surveys and analyzed collected data through map visualization.   Urban Social Forum is a recurring platform by Kota Kita Foundation that provides an open and inclusive space for exchanging knowledge, debating ideas, and networking between civil society organizations, activists, academics, and students working on pressing urban issues. In the 10th rendition of USF in Surakarta, I:• Worked with a team of 5 to organize lokakarya (workshop) about cycling infrastructure auditing and tactical urbanism practices.• Reached and facilitated 15+ participants in the session from various cities such as Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, and Surabaya, and successfully obtained data on cycling infrastructure and the supporting infrastructure in the mentioned cities.• Coordinated with the Urban Social Forum’s staff & volunteers for logistics and successfully made the event inclusive of tuna wicara by providing an interpreter.   "Anak Muda Mengulik Ruang Publik" is a four-day workshop attended by high school students, raising their awareness about city governance, urban mobility, public transportation integration, and the creation of inclusive and low-carbon public spaces in Surabaya. The event is part of WRI Indonesia's Old Town Week (or Pekan Kota Lama) from 9-17 November 2024.• Liaised with Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Timur to secure participation permissions for schools, ensuring smooth involvement of high school students in the workshop • Facilitated learning for 6 students from NOLA School, covering key topics such as participatory planning, youth contribution, GEDSI, placemaking, etc., while supporting design thinking and the creation of a public space model• Coordinated and managed the procurement of tools and materials required for producing the public space model according to the event’s budget and timeline Show less Bersama Di Jalan originated as a festival held on 18 August 2024 at Wisma Jerman Surabaya, supported by the UK PACT II Consortium (including WRI Indonesia, Vital Strategies, and ARUP). The event celebrated collective efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable road infrastructure development in coastal metropolitan Surabaya, focusing on road safety through design, regulations, and behavioral change.Since its inception, Bersama Di Jalan has maintained its commitment by collaborating with WRI Indonesia, Surabaya City Government & Bank Indonesia during Old Town Week (9–17 November 2024) and participating in various FGDs and dissemination activities.• Responsible for communication strategies in the organization, overseeing various communication channels such as social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and e-mail • Planned and mapped over 35 stakeholders and communities for workshops, activities, sponsorships, and media partnerships in the festival• Led and managed group of volunteers (runners, liaisons, note-takers) in D-Day events and in charge of communicating with the community/organizers involved• Served as the Person in Charge (PIC) for the "Active Mobility & 15-Minute City in Surabaya" Talkshow, directly performing liaison duties for speakers from Planologic, Bappedalitbang Surabaya and WRI Indonesia, ensuring smooth communication in the event.
