Excellent public speaking skills as well as leadership skills. Grounded in technology both for office systems and proprietary computerized automotive repair systems. With specialized training in finance, marketing and human resource management as well as operational management I bring the strategic level goals to an operational level for implementation to attain organizational goals. In a tight economy one of these goals centers on cost cutting measures while improving overall production and customer satisfaction. Wearing a dual hat I not only oversee IT budget operations and develop policy for resourcing and training, but also have oversight for the operational budget to lead and direct our workforce for maximum profitability. These duties include recruitment, training, and putting my organizational skills to the test while honing our supply chain.Wearing my CIO hat requires formulating strategic goals for our organization, while wearing my Operations Director hat I have had very specific training in Project Management. These two make an excellent combination as the PM always needs executive level support for projects. I was able to completely re-engineer business processes, driving analysis that identified increased use of industry tools to allow us to create throughout our enterprise the physical infrastructure to be considered the very best repair organization in the industry. I have been able to head critical IT projects both with long-term strategy as well as immediate business needs. Management of a service orientated organization allows one to focus on customer centric needs, while developing solid supply chain connections. Show less

CVTC is where I became Trained & Certified for ONLINE instructionIn addition to teaching Intro to Psychology (Certified for 809 Courses), I created the Blackboard presence for a dozen sections, putting all of the coursework into the Blackboard Information Systems environment.I have taught numerous Mathematics courses: Math For Automotive Techs, Math For Auto Body, Math for Heating & Refrigeration, & Medical Math, in addition to teaching pre-algebra. At CVTC I also taught a variety of Automotive courses (Certified for 404 Courses) as a substitute instructor called at the last minute...given no prep time. As much as this offered a challenge, because I was full time in the industry I was also current on all automotive repair protocols. Show less

I began teaching at the University of Wisconsin by taking a 16 week semester long Information Systems course titled Technology Driven Business and consolidating it into a 4 week WinterIm course to be taught in 4 hour blocks each day. Since that time I continue to teach Information Systems courses for full 16 semester coursework. After that first semester, and having received extremely favorable reviews for my flipped classroom style in an active learning classroom they asked me to remain and teach 2-3 sections for the regular 16 week semester. My reviews were favorable enough that I was offered an opportunity to go to Xian University in China, our sister university, to teach for a month in the summer of 2014. Similar to our WinterIm I was to teach our 16 week course in a one month period of time. These were students who would be coming to the United States in the Fall for coursework that would lead to a dual degree from the US and from China. One goal of my teaching them in Xian was to give them experience as to what to expect in a United States University experience. Chinese tradition up to this point had their classroom experience focused only on traditional lecture methods. In addition to teaching an Information Systems class I was asked to give special instruction in two different two hour seminars to their faculty in flipped classrooms and active learning classroom environments. While our text focuses on major corporations for its examples I bring to the table a small business perspective for the same educational information. I have been in business for over thirty years, and research suggests that a majority of college graduates will work for small business rather than the largest of corporations. Having also managed for Wisconsin Independent Businesses for seven years I am able to bring alive for my students an understanding of how business and information systems can work within the smallest of businesses in addition to the corporate world.
