      Mechanical engineer

Worked as a mechanical engineer designing the next generation of automobile crash test dummies. Primary responsibilities involved re-engineering, designing, specifying, manufacturing or working with local machine shops, assembly, testing and re-design of various components in the test device. Developed new components for the upper and lower abdomens, instrumentation for measuring the abdomen deflection (DGSP), shoulders, and jacket. Delivered test device to Canadian and Japanese laboratories for preliminary testing. Presented results of our development to our contract supervisors at NHTSA. The results of our work is available at: http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/departments/nrd-51/THORAdv/THORAdv.htm Show less

    • Acentech

      Mar 1997 - Jul 2017

This role involved leadership of client projects and colleagues. Our team consulted on projects in the field of architectural acoustics and mechanical system noise and vibration control. I manage the acoustical aspects of about 50 to 70 active projects. The role included mentorship and staff development to increase the skill set of colleagues to support our clients' project needs. The projects might involve the construction of new buildings and facilities or remedial modifications of operating and existing facilities or systems that are experiencing noise or vibration issues. I have also provided expert testimony in numerous public hearings and with several litigation and arbitration proceedings. Show less
