      Funded laboratory experiences for Associate degree students over an year. The goal of the program is to encourage undergraduate participation in authentic research and to increase persistence in STEM disciplines. 400 hours of mentoring from faculty members and participate in programming offered at their campuses, including sessions on laboratory safety, public speaking and poster preparation.Each year, the program culminates in a summer symposium where students display and present their work to peers and mentors.       Careers in medicine enhancment program (cmep)

      CMEP is an academic enrichment program for students interested in healthcare professionals. The program consisted of a series of lectures and learning opportunities with a focus on health equity. I presented a capstone project as a part of the CMEP program where my topic of interest was underrepresented minorities in medicine. For this project, I presented a model of a linkage program that can increase the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine through active recruitment and retention efforts. Show less

      The CCEEI is a collaborative effort of six New York City medical schools and Mentoring in Medicine, Inc., in response to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the internship is to empower students interested in medical and health fields to disseminate accurate information about COVID-19 and vaccination by educating diverse communities and raising awareness about COVID-19, its impact, vaccine science, and approaches for community education regarding Covid-19 vaccination. In addition to acquiring educational information on COVID-19, students completed community service as a part of their capstone requirements in which students committed to speaking with at least ten people about COVID-19 vaccinations and shared their capstone projects on social media.
