Assumes command of the department in the absence of the Fire Chief. As part of the interim executive leadership team the Acting Deputy Fire Chief was the highest ranking Chief Officer and was responsible for leading through organizational crisis by the oversight and management of all divisions of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD). Carrying out city and departmental goals by fostering working relationships with LPFD personnel, other city departments, local and regional fire agencies. Under direction of the Deputy Fire Chief, the Battalion Chief is responsible for the command and management of an assigned shift. Additional responsibilities include the management of fleet, engine operations, training and leadership programs for the department. The Fire Captain is a first line supervisory position and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned fire apparatus, equipment and station. Under direction of the Deputy Fire Chief, the Battalion Chief is responsible for the command and management of an assigned shift. Additional responsibilities include the management of fleet, engine operations, training and leadership programs for the department.
