  •2010 - 2020: HEAD of DEPARTMENT (HOD)During my tenure from 2010 to 2020 with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), I served as a commissioned officer holding the rank of Lieutenant and as the Head of my unit's Risk Management Department. In my capacity as the section head, I was responsible for providing strategic, operational, and tactical guidance for the development of future standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the domains of risk management, communication, counterintelligence (military security), and governance, which were intended to serve as a white paper for units comprising between 300 and 1,000 members (Battalions). Furthermore, since my appointment as section head in 2013, the units under my supervision have consistently achieved qualified clean audits from both the Inspector General (I.G.) and the Inspector General Intelligence (I.G.I.). My initial specialisation within the SANDF as a combat medic and visual tracker provided me with a unique opportunity to serve as an instructor with full accreditation from the South African Safety and Security Education Training Authority (SASSETA). In addition to facilitating courses in emergency medicine, firearms handling and usage within military and law enforcement contexts, and risk management, I was also allocated accreditation status as an assessor for the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) skills programmes known as security degrees A, B, C, D, and E.   •2015 - 2016: VOLUNTEER BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) PRACTITIONERAs a volunteer at ER24 Bloemfontein, I assisted Intermediate Life Support (ILS) and Advance Life Support (ALS) Paramedics to determine the nature and extent of the patient's injuries or illness. We regularly participated in support of public events as emergency medical care practitioners on standby in case of the unfortunate event of a medical emergency.   •2023: LEAD CYBERSECURITY CONTRIBUTORAfter the huge success of The Security Professional's Pocket Book and exposure on 104.1 Medfm, I partnered with My City Bloemfontein on their My Mag Security initiative as the lead cybersecurity contributor. My Mag Security is an online magazine with 35,200 readers. The My Mag Security magazine aimed to provide readers with local and national crime statistics, and articles about the different kinds of security services available in Bloemfontein. I was responsible to contribute weekly articles concerning cybersecurity, that inform readers how to stay safe online, the modus operandi of hackers, and how to defend against social engineering attacks.•2021 – 2022: GUEST SPEAKERDue to my public speaking engagements and the massive success of my book. 104.1 Medfm approached me to do a weekly safety and security talk show which focused on public safety, emergency communication, and personal security awareness. This show broadcasted to over 7100 listeners and aired over two seasons from 2021 to 2022.•2020 - 2023: AUTHORED THE SECURITY PROFESSIONAL'S POCKET BOOKShortly after leaving the governmental sector, I authored and published my first book which focuses primarily on legislation, crime, emergency scene management and emergency communication for professional and community-based security structures.
