      As our school's ECE Department Chair, I teach 10 incredible high school students, grades 9-14 (transition) including - Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, Echolalia, Traumatic Brain Injury, OHI, Multiple Disabilities, DiGeorge's Syndrome, Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome, and Severe Behavior Modifications.I Provide and manage IEPs, Re-evaluations, Behavior Modification Plans, over 30 senior Peer Tutors, Community Based Instruction, Data Analysis and co-teach with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapist, BCBA's and General Education Teachers. Show less a. Conducts regular monthly department meetings; prepares agenda, guides and facilitates discussion and publishes minutes. b. Participates regularly in meetings of Department Chair, District Special Education Department Chair and as applicable, District Curriculum Committee. Functions as communicator between these groups and department members. c. Liaison/point person to coordinate services and transition with feeder schools. d. Provides leadership in development and re-evaluation of department goals and objectives. e. Provides leadership in professional development of department staff. f. Visits, confers with and assists department teachers in performing their teaching and related duties. g. Initiates demonstration teaching, or other means of helping teachers share in the improvement of instruction.h. Assists, upon request, the principal, administration and/or Director of Special Education with selection. i. Works cooperatively with principal or designee and Director of Special Education in preparation ofdepartmental assignments and schedules. j. Recommends assignment of teachers so as to utilize their instructional strengths to strengthen the school's special education program. k. Assigns, coordinates, special education paraeducators. l. Prepares budget requests which accurately reflect educational needs of department. m. Orders and distributes supplies and materials in accordance with department priorities and Districtregulations. n. Maintains accountability for department expenditures, materials, and supplies. o. Provides leadership in articulation with other departments, schools and post-secondary options. p. Acquires knowledge of, participates in, and facilitates the accreditation process. q.
