I played a big part in the marketing of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences as a brand ambassador for the faculty. I featured in multiple video promotions, newspaper articles, magazine features, and this job gave me the opportunity to go out to different areas and market the University of Pretoria. This job improved my communication skills to such an extent because I encountered people from different backgrounds with their own unique perspectives, in the process making me a good listener.The most rewarding part of this job was that I got to add value to someone else’s life and that for me is one of the greatest services I can give to others.       I was part of the 2018/19 Executive Committee of the student-faculty house of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, namely Commercii. As a committee, we hosted the inaugural 3-day faculty festival at the University of Pretoria called 2moroland. In my capacity as the Academics and Mentorship Officer, I had to engage with faculty management on numerous occasions as well as being a custodian to the students. To prove the impact the 2018/2019 committee had we walked away with 8 awards at the end of our term for our hard work and commitment. One of the awards was the Personal and Professional Development Award that links to my portfolio (Academics and Mentorship) which highlighted the hard work I put in alongside my fellow members.This leadership position opened my eyes to how a real management team operates, which will aid me in my desired profession.
