  The Transit Supervisor supervises the work of Transit Operators on assigned shift providing support to ensure Operators function in a safe, efficient manner that is compliant with BC Transit policy. The incumbent will respond to route, scheduling and mechanical problems; intervene directly as “first responder” in relation to serious incidents such as accidents, assaults, threatened violence, fires, vandalism, passenger injury or illness and BC Transit security related issues. Provides customer service by providing on-street and on-board advice regarding routes and schedules, resolving informal complaints and investigating written complaints. Provides overall co-ordination of transit delivery during assigned shifts, utilizing radio, on-board computer and personal contact. Participates in the planning of road closures and special events by liaising with municipal & highways officials and event planners. Provides input to other departments, undertakes various special assignments and participates in committees in support of safe and efficient service delivery. Show less
