Project Link: www.aaronvdhdesigns.com/ideccompetitionGroup info: This project was completed in a group consisting of 4 interior design studentsProject Description: Design a space within a semi-trailer that promotes active living. The space has to create awareness of human, economic, environmental, and ethical concerns.Project Concept: The concept for our container design is “small changes, BIG DIFFERENCE”. If people can motivate themselves enough to do a few small things, big results will follow. This is true in the environment and human health. In our exhibit proposal, this approach to exercise masks the often-daunting task of “working-out” with fun and imagination. From the environmental perspective, motion-censored lights, solar generated electricity, and human movement supply all the required energy and electricity. The proposed exhibit experience will educate, excite and empower visitors to be more physically active and aware of their environmental impact daily. This competition is a wonderful opportunity to create an awareness of human, economic, environmental, and ethical concerns for future interior designers. The experience should also encourage students and faculty alike to reflect about socially responsible design and the importance of design in our society. Show less
