I was conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments of unaccompanied/separated minors and children in families to identify any trauma-related symptoms, behavioural issues, or mental health challenges and I was providing individual counselling sessions for children, as well as the Best Interest Assessments for implementing Dublin Regulation for applications of family reunification of UAM’s. I also organized group therapy sessions by using the Music (Art therapy) to address common issues, promote resilience, and build peer support networks, by creating a safe and supportive environment for children and using evidence-based trauma therapies. I was providing guidance and support to parents and caregivers to help them understand and address the psychological needs of their children, by offering parenting skills workshops. I was collaborating with other professionals to ensure a coordinated response during emergencies, such as UNHCR, N.G.Os and governmental organizations. Within my role in Moria camp, I trained other staff members/caregivers of the unaccompanied minors in basic psychosocial support techniques. I was collaborating with medical professionals, and other specialists to ensure a holistic approach to children's well-being, and I was participating in the Mental Health Psychosocial support meetings. As a caseworker at the European Union Asylum Agency (EUAA), I played a critical role in the processing of asylum applications and ensuring the protection of individuals seeking refuge within the European Union.
