  Tapahan tästä on tainnut tulla.. Leading the R&D for the first ever WCDMA/3G/GSM/2G multistandard mobile phone Programs including both devices and platform functions (chip sets and sw). Building up new Research stream for Radio communications, developments in e.g. GSM, WCDMA and Mobile TV. The purpose of the research team was to further develop the 2G GSM technology, set basis for 3G technologies (at that time there were several candidates) and also explore possibilities to use mobile radio core competences. The role included collaboration within EU framework programs like ATDMA and FRAMES as well as contributions to standardization. In this role my responsibility was to lead the system design and product (technology) development team of Nokia Mobile Phones for the very first GSM phone ever. Later my role was to lead the overall global system design function in Nokia Mobile Phones with the primary goal to create the first Digital Core Technology (DCT1) platform for all TDMA based mobile phone design (GSM, US-TDMA and JDC) I was responsible to develop data modems for dial up networks. My projects included V.22, V.22 bis and V.32 modem projects where I develop part of the algorithms, DSP and control SW and some circuit boards by myself while I was also responsible of the overall projects ranging up to some 10 people. All the products entered the market successfully.
