  I taught a variety of English courses and advised the yearbook at a diverse Title I school. My classes included students with disabilities, English learners, and students with a variety of learning profiles. I was passionate about using project-based learning, equitable grading practices, and a dialogic model to support deep student learning in my classroom.

  I facilitate professional learning with teachers in the greater Sacramento area. Specific topics include reading and writing in the content areas through discipline-specific literacy practices, creating a culture of academic talk in the classroom, supporting and nurturing students' reading lives, and teaching literacy skills for transfer and independence.

  I lead the professional learning and curriculum department for San Juan Unified School District. Our department oversees all of the curriculum adoptions and support for the district, and we support our practitioners through professional learning opportunities, our system of professional growth, new teacher induction, and our teacher residency. I lead and support all professional learning and curriculum adoptions for English/language arts and history-social science, grades TK-12.
