I'm Product Owner in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment. In my portfolio is the entire .NET-stack of Acerta, covering around 60 applications. Some are big and high tech, others ancient and obscure.Serving as the intermediary between Product Management and stakeholders bringing in new feature requests on one side and the agile team implementing those features on the other side. Usually I also help shaping the features with the product managers to correctly represent the need and appropriately sized. I introduce those new features to the team, where I help breaking them up in right-sized stories working within scope and budget, so the team can estimate them. I also help creating features from within the agile team and presenting them at the Product Management for approval. Usually these features are of very technical nature.Once features have been approved I plan them in in the upcoming PI, where stories are prioritized and finally committed.During implementation (in bi-weekly sprints), I further refine stories where needed and evaluate them against the Definition of Done in order to accept them. In the meanwhile I report the progress back to the Product Management. On a portfolio level I help Product Management creating a long term plan (a few PI's ahead) so both IT and Business have an idea what to expect and when. This also helps in creating long term budget and reduces fluctuations in staffing. Show less When Acerta implemented SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) throughout its organisation, I took the role of Feature Manager (called "Product Manager" in official SAFe terminology) for all change features coming from Infino. Infino is a company the split off of Acerta at the end of 2018, but still relies heavily on supporting services from Acerta. My task is to capture their needs, help budgetize and shape them into change features. These features I enter into the portfolio planning at Acerta for implementation. During implementation I provide regular feedback to Infino so they can prepare their business acceptance tests and inform their users of the upcoming changes. Show less I'm responsible for designing, supporting and surveying the software architecture of my domain "Document Systems". I fulfill the bridging function between ICT and Business by translating business needs into an ICT project. My main tools are communication and creativity. The first stage of my task is to gather and use the business requirements to come up with a solution (and possible alternatives), scope it, make a cost estimation and defend the viability of the project in front of a steering committee. In a second phase, when the project has been approved, I follow the project in the sideline by performing high level reviews of the functional analysis and shaping the solution with the technical architect and support the developers. In a final stage, I follow the transition from project to maintenance and use that into the next cycle. So basically, I take an idea and shape it into software by communicating. A lot of communicating. Show less

When the law surround Child Support in Belgium changed drastically (going from Federal level to Regional level) companies like Acerta had to make drastic changes to their organisation. Both Acerta and Securex had decided to split off their Child Support Services and join them into a new company; Infino.Around a dozen task forces were created with members of both companies to shape and realize the new company in two years time. The first year we focused on aligning the business processes and software of both companies and creating one vision. In the second year we implemented the new legislation for all regions. The amount of change we implemented was huge; new organisations, new facilities, new business processes, new infrastructure, new software, .... And everything was ready right when it was supposed to!I was never at the payroll of Infino since, you know, it didn't exist at the time. But I'm proud of having being part of its creation. But my work for them isn't done, since I will continue to service them from my position at Acerta. Show less
