      Feb 2009 - Jul 2013

Upon relocating with Beca to Singapore in 2012 as a Senior Associate Director, my primary focus was on delivering the Connexion project at Farrer Park. In this role I provided leadership support to our delivery team, drawing on my expertise in Healthcare projects and my skills in stakeholder engagement and coordination. I was responsible for daily Client-Consultant-Contractor coordination throughout the construction, testing & commissioning, and handover phases. I also lead the introduction and roll-out of the Beca Project Delivery System (PDS) into our Singapore office. This included briefing of our Executive team, and training of our 200+ Singapore staff over a 3 month period. In conjunction with the initial Singapore roll-out, I also developed our team of Asia Hub PDS Support Champions through providing ongoing one-on-one coaching and monthly support sessions. This resulted in the successful adoption of PDS in Singapore, and provided the frame work for the subsequent roll-out of PDS across our other Asia offices. Show less As a senior member of the Beca Building Services team in Wellington, my role included;Day-to-day management and leadership of our delivery teams for a number of key projects. This included the Clinical Services and Ward Support Block Refurbishment at Wellington Hospital, and the Hub and Library upgrade Project at Victoria University of Wellington. These projects were both made up of a number of smaller projects (some delivered within extremely tight timeframes) and provided me with the platform to develop my skills in team leadership. My ability to closely engage with the diverse range of stakeholders and to make robust decisions quickly was crucial to the success of these projects.I held the role of client relationship manager (CRM) for the Victoria University of Wellington, in which I developed communication strategies with the University to better understand their key drivers, challenges, and opportunities. This was instrumental to establishing the successful delivery model for a range of completed and ongoing projects for the University.I was actively involved in the review and development of a number of companywide improvement initiatives, including the development and pilot testing of the new Beca Project Delivery System (PDS). I provided training and support during the roll-out of this system across Beca. I also held the role of Regional Quality Representative (RQR) for the Wellington office. Through this role I successfully promoted and challenged the systems that we use as a company, while also providing training and coaching to the team in the use of these systems to deliver their projects.I provided mentoring and informal coaching for a number of our emerging junior staff in the Wellington office. In addition to day-to-day coaching and training, I formally mentored four mechanical engineers and a member of our Project Management team. This involved monthly one-on-one catch ups, support, and advice to help them establish clear career direction. Show less
