  Part of leadership team responsible for managing a 24 bed medical ICU in a 750+ bed academic medical center in Philadelphia. The Beacon award winning unit employs over 100 RNs, many of who are CCRN certified and many who are obtaining advanced degress, in addition to certified nursing assistants, unit clerks and a support associate. Patients may be treated for hemolytic and oncology emergencies, ARDS, respiratory failure, sepsis, MSOD, acute and chronic liver and kidney disease, gastrointestinal hemmorhage, pre and post organ or bone marrow transplant, smoke inhalation, and post-cardiac arrest. In addition to the nurses and intensivists who provide 24 care on the unit, our interdisciplinary team consists of advance practice nurses, unit based respiratory therapists, socal work, chaplaincy, pharmacists and physical therapists, RN care coordinator, and a registered dietician. We invite and encourage family presence at the bedside and during interdiciplinary rounds to provide optimal care to our patients and their loved ones. Show less
