  Area Coordinator

  TECHO works, through the collaborative work of families living in extreme poverty with youth volunteers, to overcome poverty in slums all over Latin America and the Caribbean. I have worked with this international NGO in the non remunerated position of General Coordination for the Plan de Secundarios. The Plan de Secundarios, team I led, works by bringing high school students together with impoverished communities in Costa Rica in order for them to start working together for the development of each community. The main idea behind this area in the NGO is that students may start connecting with the reality Costa Rica lives in, understand it, and most importantly start working to enable change and overcome poverty. Students get to realize that they can actually create impact from different areas of action even while still being "just high school students".Part of the achievements from last year alone is he achievement of more than 20 built houses, over 200 mobilized students and $10,000 fundraised, while still being a senior in high school.   Intern, Recruiting and Geospatial Analytics

  Within the recruiting team I handled candidate communication, travel, and interview processes for various positions open at various McK offices around the world, co-created the social media strategy for both Waltham and San Jose offices, worked alongside 3 colleagues in a client project that involved handling the recruiting for a governmental initiative that will create 600,000 new jobs for a developing country, co-created recruiting workshops for MBA audiences, and helped out restructure the social responsibility team. Then, within the Geospatial Analytics team I researched on statistical, demographic, and cartographic data availability for 20 Latin American countries, contacting both public institutions and around 10 private sector companies, documented and merged obtained information with corresponding cartography using different software such as QGIS, ArcGIS and Alteryx. I also worked alongside colleagues all over the world on distinct client projects, one of the most exciting was gathering information and cartography for around 70 cities in all continents and generating insightful measures that’ll be used by mayors in decision making processes!
