      Large aviation and flight operations company that caters to the every need of the world aviation community Supervisor of Imaging and Printing Services with 14 to 16 direct reports and up to 5 Temporary workers on any given day. Principle duties include overall Pressroom and Pre-Press/Pre-Flight Management, extensive vendor relations, complete paper and consumable inventory management to include MRP and Kanban, Production Schedule prepare and adherence, budget analysis and development, and regulating proper chemical handling procedures. Lean/5S Workshop Leader based on the Toyota Method. Successfully implemented quality control systems using Lean manufacturing techniques and maintained them through our certification in IS 9001 standards. Was the Project Manager for acquiring new digital based and updated offset printing technologies. Developed each of the pressroom's work guides, training manuals, daily use forms and safety protocols. We produced over One Billion flight charts per year with less than 5% product defect rate. As our department ran on an eight week revision schedule, our on-time performance had to be 100% as lives depended on the information daily!Received OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training to facilitate new safety and chemical; awareness.Maintained optimal paper and pressroom supplies utilizing several vendors, while implementing JIT procedures.Implemented recently created Lean Continuous improvements within the entire Distribution facility that achieved a first time operational efficiency gain of 18-26% in performance throughput. This also made an immediate pressroom budget savings of $12,000, eventually reaching an overall department savings of $120,000. The initial four year period after implementation of continuous improvement principles resulted in an average of 15% per year savings or impact on Labor costs and overall operation efficiencies. With an annual department budget of $15 million each Lean Initiative had a massive impact. Show less

Overall defects were not tolerated so a pre-check process of all products moving throughout the shop was reduced to less than 1%.Managed and coordinated the production and warehouse staff of (8) fulltime operators and up to (4) Temporary staff members in a small ergonomic office furniture manufacturer that is quality driven and completely custom. Each order had its own special application and delivery specification but tailored to 911 dispatch centers. Safety Management, purchasing, inventory control, RMA handling where additional responsibilities each week. Handled all duties and responsibilities of trucking and shipping. Coordinated with national and local LTL, OTR trucking lines and brokers as well as DHL and UPS World ship. We maintained a 100% on time delivery for our instillation crew and decreased a missing part deficiency from 15% to 5%. As a small company with large unit shipping needs, it was a constant endeavourer to reduce OTR cost so self brokerage became to method to driving cost down.
