  Ever felt this nagging feeling in your guts when you keep procrastinating something you know you’re meant to do just cuz you’re afraid?That was me 3 years ago.So, I love Tech right? Like… a lotttt. But there was just this voice in my head that kept bugging me non-stop.“Start writing legal articles to help businesses wanting to launch their tech innovations meet legal requirements”I tried shaking it off. Not because I didn’t want to write. But because I knew deeply it was gonna transform to entrepreneurship.That was the fear I didn’t want to embrace.Look, I’d always had this passion to be an entrepreneur right from a young age.And as I grew, not only did my love for innovation deepen…I also grew burdened about tech ideas that couldn’t launch due to limited legal and tech resources.I really wanted to help. Seriously. But I didn’t want the responsibility of doing something ‘official’ as a business.Yet, the bugging in my head was a lot.So in 2021, I took the first leap of faith 👉I started writing! Called in my 2 friends, Temilola and Sunmibola: “ Hey, Would love to help early stage startups make informed legal decisions with proper research and guidance. Can we start by writing articles together?”They happily agreed. We started off with the title, ‘TechLaw Insight’ We were just students. But God knows we went all in.👉 Professional courses. Internships. Workshops. Online training. In-depth research.We didn’t want the limitation of ‘you guys are just a bunch of undergraduates’ to limit us.And it didn’t. In the past 2 years, we’ve: - Grown an amazing team of 15+ individuals.- Helped a number of clients on issues of legal compliance.- Recruited expert Tech Lawyers, handling personalized legal advisory.Today, we are Lex Techker Advisory.A team that goes 101% into helping your tech business overcome legal hurdles… And we’re just getting started.Whoo!   Legal Interns are fond of seeking incentives from law firms.Yet, they always complain of the workload handed down to them by the Lawyers.Well, I’m an exception.While I advocate for incentives for the labor put in by interns, I see workload as an opportunity to grow speedily. In fact, I relish it.This was the mindset I worked with at Abraham Bailey Solicitors. And it earned me several notable responsibilities that helped me gain the right skills as Founder of a growing TechLaw Advisory.“Okay, great. But what did you actually achieve there, Iyin?”I assisted in Startup registration, Data privacy/protection law review, tech policy review and legal research.In fact, as an intern, I registered a couple of businesses on the CAC portal!- Did a couple of work on the CAC post-incorporation portal.- Read and summarize laws like the Data Privacy Act.- Carried out in depth research on CBN's Policies on cryptocurrency.Although I faced the challenge of getting accustomed to the CAC portal and understanding the technical terms, the outcome was positive.The businesses were successfully registered. I’d taken 90% of work off the shoulders of the head lawyer through research and analysis of the standard tech policies.Handling more responsibilities like this, I gained more expertise and work ethics.Which I apply today in Building Lex Techker.And it’s not just I alone.
