      Amie Dugan is Senior Vice President, Organizational Development for Special Olympics North America. She leads the OD team that provides guidance and oversight to all SONA Programs (U.S., Canada, Caribbean), from ensuring compliance to facilitating operational and programmatic advancement and excellence. Additional areas of specialty include CEO searches & onboarding, Board Governance, strategic planning, centers of excellence, leadership training & development, risk management, business operations/continuity, and crisis communications.Amie's experience ranges from the grassroots to international levels during her 28 years with Special Olympics. She established Special Olympics North America's Marketing & Communications division and led the department from 2012-2017. Prior to that, she served as VP of Marketing & Communications for Special Olympics Florida for 14 years. In those roles, Amie oversaw marketing, communications, media, social media, digital media, crisis communications, risk management, brand and more, including national and intl. events. She served on Special Olympics’ global brand task force, co-chaired the U.S. Leadership Council's marketing & communications committee, was a member of Special Olympics USA's management team, and continues to serve on the SOI Risk Management & Insurance Task Force.She was inducted into the Special Olympics Florida Hall of Fame in 2011. Prior to Special Olympics, she worked for the Walt Disney World Company and the Juilliard School of Music.She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rollins College, holds a MMBA as well as a certificate in nonprofit management, multiple leadership institute program certificates, and has designed and led several Special Olympics Leadership Academies. She is a BoardSource certified nonprofit consultant, and an instructor, custom client consultant, and curriculum developer on nonprofit governance for The Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership.
