  Assistant farm manager

  After interning the previous summer, I joined returned to the Petaluma Bounty as Assistant Manager, a seasonal position to help oversee and execute daily operations of a 3-acre, organically-grown produce farm. Farm responsibilities included propagating, transplanting, monitoring, irrigating, weeding, and harvesting a variety of edible crops, plus some work in a small orchard. Community responsibilities included staffing three farm stands per week, including the Walnut Park Farmer's Market, a sliding scale farmstead at the Petaluma Health Center, and a sliding-scale farm stand on site. Oversaw weekly volunteer days and educational programming and helped facilitate a free CSA Box for qualifying low-income families. Show less

  Drew from extensive horticultural knowledge to provide specialized sales and customer service support at iconic "Seed Bank" outpost of Baker Creek Heirloom seeds. Worked with inventory of over 1800 heirloom seeds and rare varietals and provided recommendations and propagation advice for customers ranging from seed tourists to farmers. Additional responsibilities included all aspects of day-to-day retail operations.

  Summer intern at Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN), a leading advocacy and restoration group in the North Bay. Monitored and collected native seeds in West Marin for propagation in nursery to ultimately restore riparian habitat Coho salmon. Special attention given to phenology and responsible harvesting. Provided nursery support as necessary.
