  • As a trench supervisor I was assigned 3-5 individuals and placed in charge of a 5 X 5 meter trench. • One of the expected duties of a trench supervisor is to learn the strengths of those who are working in their trench and to ensure efficiency as well as the safety of those individuals. • Trench supervisors are responsible for keeping a daily log and drawings along with clear and accurate notes to describe any deviations in soil changes, record elevations, match important pictures to their relevant finds and to describe and analyze the various Loci and Lots. • At the end of the season the notes and information collected are refined into a final narrative that accurately describes and details the finds and beliefs associated with that trench.   • As a returning trench supervisor I was given 5-6 people and placed in charge of three 5 X 5 meter trenches.• Continued duties as a trench supervisor included keeping a daily log of events that transpired in the trenches, performing pottery analysis of all material, and a daily drawing to demonstrate visible changes• Each trench supervisor was tasked with the responsibility of collaborating information to determine the architecture and significant finds of the archaeological site which would be presented within each trench report as well as drawing context and examples from other trenches on site.• Once again at the end of the season the notes and information collected were refined into a final narrative that accurately described and detailed the finds and beliefs associated with all three trenches.   • As a returning trench supervisor with a team of 6 people, I was in charge of multiple trenches along the polygonal wall and residential area of the Ancient Elion site.• My team and I were given the task of exposing the polygonal wall as well as digging down to the walls foundation to determine an approximate age of the wall itself.• This process involved interviewing and research gathering with a team of specialists in geology, geography and ancient architecture. I was required to research field notes of other excavations in order to draw parallels and conclusions.• By leveraging my multitasking abilities to prepare and train new archeologists while working with a team of specialists, we were able to stay on schedule and complete the project on time.   • As a returning trench supervisor I was given several junior archaeologists and placed in charge of uncovering the outline of a large stone building on our archaeology site.• After finishing our outline and moving inside the southeast of the structure we uncovered a large tomb which took up the majority of our time during the 2016 season.• This process involved working diligently with our Directors, several experts in ancient Bronze Age burials and a handful of young archaeologists. I was required to manage time in the burial so that each group was able to gather and be exposed to as much experience and finds as possible while comparing and analyzing large amount of information that came from our discoveries.• By analyzing past trench supervisors notes and drawing on current research papers discussing other burial sites in Greece I was able to put together a formal report discussing our finds and their relevance to others on our site as well as theories for their overall significance.
