  Years ago, I stood atop Mt Whitney, the tallest peak in the contiguous United States. I had just climbed 11 miles and was energized, enjoying both the view and the accomplishment. I noted, however, that not everyone felt the same way. In fact, most others looked like “death warmed over”, lying down, feeling beat and ill. As I descended the trail, there were many who would turn back, not making the final pitch. I had organized that trip for several of my friends (all of whom made it to the top and back) and had the thought “I love this, do it well and can teach others to join me on the journey.” Later that week, a new business was born and in six weeks, I was a professional, guiding three paying clients up and safely down the route to Mt. Whitney.This summer, I had a birthday. I am feeling great, enjoying the blessings of my life and looking forward to all that life will bring over the next several decades. I can collect social security. Alas, I look around and not all of my cohort is enjoying the same view that I am, nor the same outlook. And now, I have the same thought, “I love this, do it well and can teach others to join me on the journey. “ Hence a new business, no actually, a calling is born. In October 2023, Feral Cat bottled the first of the Silver Hawk 420 brand of dealcoholized wine infused with hemp-derived THC for a social experience of sharing a bottle of wine without the health detriments of alcohol. Using hemp-derived THC allows us to offer this experience across state lines under the federally approved Farm Bill of 2018.
