My responsibilities included influencing policy decisions to ensure they aligned with the evolving needs of young people, while also providing oversight of the branch's management to promote transparency and accountability. I actively represented the interests and concerns of the youth, ensuring their voices were heard in the strategic planning and execution of branch affairs. Additionally, I was tasked with monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating youth-led initiatives and activities across the County Branch, fostering alignment with the broader mission of the Kenya Red Cross.   As part of my three-month practicum in the Community Engagement Exchange Program in the United States, I was placed with the Rotary Club of Houston Skyline, specifically within the Environment Committee. My key achievements included:1. Restoration Projects: Successfully executed restoration projects for both James Bute Park and the Texas AIDS Memorial Garden, contributing to the preservation and beautification of these important community spaces.2. Tree Inventory: Conducted comprehensive tree inventories for the Harrisburg Trail and the MKT Trail, helping to enhance urban forestry management and ecological planning.3. Global Health Conference Presentation: Had the privilege to present our poster at the 12th Annual Global Health Conference hosted by the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. Our presentation focused on bridging the divide in global health diplomacy between the Global South and the Global North, a topic of immense importance in today's interconnected world.4.
