  Holiday Childcare Provider

  I worked in the holiday club at Hallfield School, caring for children ages 3-12. As part of a small team of staff, I planned activities for the children - most creative but some with an academic component also. This role developed my critical thinking and decision making skills especially, as I frequently had to adapt to the changing COVID-19 protocols in schools.

  Bridging Course Mentor

  The Bridging Course is a course Cambridge University conducts to ease the transition into the university for a select few students that the admissions and access teams feel could use some extra support. My role was to be responsible for two students on the course in similar fields to my own, answer their questions, help them with independent work set by academics, and run regular one-to-one sessions with them checking in on both their academic progress and welfare.   Summer School Mentor

  I was a team member on the Low Participation Neighbourhood (LPN) Summer School, which is a programme available to UK students from areas that statistically have less access to higher education. The aim of the role was to support students in both academic and non-academic sessions, answer questions about higher education, and plan and execute social activities for the ~150 students present. The team was made up of 13 undergraduates across a range of subjects, so I was particularly responsible for those students with an interest in physical sciences. Simultaneously, myself and one other student were responsible for 14 A-Level students undergoing a residential as part of the Isaac Physics STEM SMART programme. Some responsibilities were similar, such as social planning, but time with these students was more focused on admissions advice specific to my undergraduate degree. Show less

  I was employed as a freelance researcher to form a database of patient advocacy groups for a wide range of diseases. The database is searchable by many key criteria, and includes both existing company information, which I updated to remain relevant, and my own additions of over 300 new groups which advocate for a variety of oncological diseases across multiple countries.
