The Mexican Food Banks Association is a civil society organization committed to improve nutrition and health standards in Mexico by rescuing food in risk of getting wasted in crop fields, food and beverage industries, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels, and giving it to people, communities and institutions facing hunger. Through a network of over 50 food banks along Mexico (the second largest network worldwide), our National Service Office and ten thousand volunteers, we help annually over 1.3 million of people in need.As Project Program Coordinator, I lead a national food rescue program in hotels and restaurants called AL RESCATE, that benefits institutions and food banks that aid vulnerable populations. I also have had impact in a number of areas such as: • Fundraising and Strategic Alliance: Obtain funds and generate new allies to expand our operations and impact• Communications: Coordinate corporative volunteer programs with different donors and institutions.• Events organization: Organize the National Food Banks Encounter and other related events.
