  In my role as a pre production engineer , I take a product designed by our in house design team and work with it until it is ready for production. This involves making prototype parts using 3d printing , manual and cnc machines. We will then produce tooling , fixtures , injection mould and overmould tools to produce components in assembly lines. I am responsible for ensuring all assembly and production tooling is repaired and maintained quickly and efficiently . I work closely with process engineering to provide support to the assembly lines especially in times of high product turnover .I this role i utilise a variety of expertise from manual toolmaking skills where my background lies , through cnc programming and operation in milling and wire erosion. But also utilising my HNC in mechanical engineering to aid design and process engineers in design for manufacture by applying my technical knowledge to their designs to ensure products are made in the most efficient and cost effective ways .
