      Jan 2001 - Jun 2011
      Director of manufacturing engineering

Directed an organization of sixty professionals providing engineering and technical support services to the Raritan Pharmaceutical and Biological global manufacturing operations.Key Accomplishments:Served as member of the site leadership team, which developed long-term strategy and direction for the Raritan site.Deployed multi year site strategy to transition the pharmaceutical manufacturing site into a packaging center of excellence, started up the North American digital print center, developed rapid launch and rest of world capabilities for 25 countries. Most recent launch achieved in 16 hours.Developed strategy and improved semi-automated kitting operation efficiency through various equipment upgrades leading to a reduction of line staffing by 80% or a cost savings of $1.5MM.Drove business case for transfer of automated carding line from consumer division to Raritan which led to a cost reduction of $1.2MM.Developed strategy and managed implementation for the consolidation of three individual packaging operations into a single line. Associated packaging per unit cost became extremely competitive and led to acquisition of entire product volume from sister GPSG sites. Drove change in the plant by building personal accountability, delivering cost savings, and breaking down entitlement barriers. Responsible for capital budget of $14MM and expense budget of $6MM. Consistently delivered capital budget on target while reducing depreciation burden by leveraging assets within the J&J network and prudent equipment write offs. Cut department costs by over 30% while maintaining the same quality level of service to manufacturing. Achieved this through timely reorganizations and redeployment of organization leaders into key roles. Further led initiative to balance line staffing to handle work differently leading to a reduced headcount. Helped conceptualize and engineer cytotoxic suite addition to current biological manufacturing facility. Show less
