      Senior software engineer

I supervised and managed a team of military and civilian programmers, analysts, and contractors to develop and maintain software applications, information systems and simulation models for three major theater level combat models for the Studies Analysis Gaming Agency (SAGA) of the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (OJCS), this office was the predecessor to the current office of the Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate (J8). During my tenure I established configuration management policies for all SAGA’s simulation models to improve software engineering and database redesigns efficiently. I managed the development of statement of work for contractor support for the development and integration of a new chemical strike assessment module and a new logistics simulation model. I led the development of analytical methods to improve the simulation performance of the strike air module by more than 400% with a 60% reduction in memory requirements. This increased capability allowed the Joint Chiefs of Staff to eliminate the concept of notional airbases and to explicitly model each airbase, and strategic and tactical aircraft in their force assessment of the Joint Strategic Planning document. I received Letter of Commendation from Director of SAGA for my innovative solutions and expertise as an expert on strike air, and air defense simulation modeling. During a routine review of the VECTOR II theater model technical documents I discovered a major mathematical error in the derivation of target acquisition and casualty assessment algorithms for direct fire weapons. Designed an improved algorithm and provided to senior DoD analysts for their review. DoD analysts acknowledged the improved algorithm and recommendation that the vendor update their simulation model and documents accordingly. Show less
