      UAM invited me to act as guest lecturer me because of my expertise in Aquatic Ecotoxicology, risk assessment and water quality monitoring, I delivered a total of 40 hours of theoretical and practical lessons in the subjects Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Integrated Laboratory within the European Master of Inland Water Quality Assessment. Research scientist in 19 national projects with public funding (Ministerio de Medio Ambiente, MICINN, CYII) and private funding (TriOS Optical Sensors, Ecohydros S.L., Ingenieros Asesores S.A.), investigating the ecophysiology, phylogeny, annual life cycles and cyanotoxins of planktonic cyanobacteria in Spanish reservoirs. 210 hours delivered as teaching assistant in laboratory practicals for subjects of Plant Biology within BSc Biology and BSc Environmental Sciences.20 hours delivered within technical courses for senior technicians of Spanish Ministry of Environment. Topic: risk assessment, risk management and water monitoring related to toxic phytoplankton in freshwaters and aquatic ecotoxiocology. Elected by vote among Teaching and Research staff of the Faculty of Sciences (Autonoma de Madrid University, Spain) to defend the interests of Early Career staff at meetings concerning: organization of University, Internal Quality Assurance Systems (IQAS), distribution of funds for teaching and R & D, and legislative changes.

      I was the coordinator and leader of subproject 8.2 (Diazotrophic Cyanobacteria), within the project: “Bioremediation of methane from mine ventilation air” funded by Advanced Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (AMCRC) and the private company MBD Energy Ltd (Australia). I was leading a dynamic interdisciplinary team of research workers and students, aiming at the selection and ecophysiological/phylogenetic characterization of cyanobacterial strains for bioremediation of CO2 and production of biofuels and bio-products of commercial interest (fatty acids, biofertilizers, nanoparticles) including bioactive compounds (cyanotoxins and others).
