      Quality assurance and food safety manager

      Quality assurance and Food safety manager (Gauteng) reporting to Quality and R&D ExecutivePURPOSE OF THE ROLE:To manage the food safety and product quality across Benoni, Rustenburg and Pretoria Bakeries.Key Responsibilities:QUALITY ASSURANCE:- Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance systems in Benoni, Pretoria and Rustenburg bakeries.- Develop quality criteria per product- Generate weekly reports per bakery. Trend all results- Monthly quality assurance audit per bakery.- Report back monthly on Quality assurance audits. - Testing and validation of products to ensure they conform to specification.- Managing, recording and following up of all customer and consumer complaints.- Managing, recording and following up of all internal corrective actions. - Effectively manage communication and relationships at plant level with the food safety controllers and with the General managers of each bakery. FOOD SAFETY:- Implement and assist in managing FSSC22000 per bakery- Ensure each bakery has functional food safety management committee and that meetings take place monthly. - Manage all food safety related audits (internal and external). - Conduct monthly food safety audits per bakery and compile monthly report. - Manage and discuss all actions required in relation to food safety with the relevant departmental heads. - Manage customer requirements in relation to food safety- Ensure master cleaning schedules are implemented and maintained per bakery. - Ensure all staff hygiene policies are adhered to and validated. - Monthly hygiene audit per bakery. - Raise and manage any corrective actions related to food safety or hygiene. - Internal auditing using Lead auditor training and experience of bakeries and other business units eg. Milling- Manage the Woolworths expectations in terms of product specification records and required analysis. - Manage allergens and recording of such per bakery. Show less
